Thoughts on New Year Resolutions

There's a sign on the highway running through our tiny town that reads "It's 2008--Now What?" Thinking back on all my annual lists of goals it's not a question of "can I set goals." For, oh yes, my goals are set each year before the last stroke of midnight. Nor is it a question of "now what." My list is endless, carried over from the prior year, revised, up dated and expanded. The question is "how to reach these goals?" How to keep the promises pledged to myself. If I had promised these things to a friend, my conscious would not allow me to let my friend down. So perhaps this year I should treat myself as well as I would treat a friend.
